Python / AWS Cloud Integrator - Build, Run & DevOps Senior

ABGi Technology is recruiting on behalf of its client, a large industrial group in the energy sector, for its future Python / AWS Cloud Integrator - Build, Run & DevOps Senior, based in Lyon.

📍 Location: Lyon, with occasional travel within France (4 to 8 times per year, mainly to Lille and Paris).

📅 Start date: 4 January 2027

⏳ Estimated duration: until 31 December 2028, subject to the exercise of the contractual options.

🔎 YOUR MISSIONS

As part of the development, modernisation and operational maintenance of its critical business applications, our client wishes to strengthen its team with an experienced Python / AWS Cloud Integrator, with solid skills in development, Cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

You will join the digital department of a large industrial group, within a team responsible for the BUILD and RUN of a strategic business platform, used in maintenance and logistics activities.

This platform plays an essential role in the group's operational processes. It requires a high level of availability, robustness, security and performance, as well as the ability to evolve to meet new business needs.

You will work across the entire application lifecycle, from the design and development of new features through to their production deployment, operation and continuous improvement.

Your role will also be to contribute to the industrialisation of deployments, the automation of technical processes, integration with partner systems and the reliability of AWS infrastructure.

The missions entrusted to you:

Python design and development

• Analyse business and technical needs in order to propose suitable solutions;

• Design and develop new features for existing applications;

• Take part in defining application architectures and technical developments;

• Write detailed functional and technical specifications;

• Develop and maintain application components in Python;

• Use Boto3 to interact with AWS services and resources;

• Carry out the technical tests needed to validate developments;

• Take part in the corrective and evolutionary maintenance of applications;

• Ensure the quality, maintainability and robustness of the code produced.

DevOps, automation and continuous integration

• Design, set up and improve CI/CD pipelines;

• Automate the build, test, delivery and deployment processes;

• Develop and maintain continuous integration and delivery chains with GitLab CI and Jenkins;

• Industrialise production release processes;

• Use Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure;

• Contribute to the standardisation of technical environments;

• Optimise delivery processes to improve their reliability and reproducibility;

• Take part in the continuous improvement of DevOps practices within the team.

AWS Cloud and infrastructure management

• Administer and develop infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS);

• Take part in the design and evolution of Cloud environments;

• Automate the management of AWS resources using Python, Boto3 and Terraform;

• Contribute to improving the availability, performance and robustness of infrastructure;

• Identify areas for technical optimisation of existing environments;

• Take part in securing exchanges and access to applications;

• Ensure consistency between infrastructure, applications and operational needs.

BUILD, RUN and operational maintenance

• Take part in the BUILD and RUN of critical business applications;

• Ensure the operational maintenance of deployed solutions;

• Analyse, diagnose and resolve production incidents;

• Implement the necessary corrective and preventive actions;

• Take part in maintenance operations and environment evolutions;

• Contribute to the continuity and quality of service of applications;

• Identify the causes of malfunctions and propose lasting improvements;

• Take part in preparing and securing production releases;

• Support users and technical teams in resolving the issues encountered.

Application integration and security

• Support technical partners when they connect to the business platform;

• Take part in integrating applications with partner systems;

• Develop, maintain and operate interfaces based on REST APIs;

• Analyse and resolve anomalies detected during integration and acceptance phases;

• Take part in the technical qualification of inter-application exchanges;

• Take into account authentication and access management mechanisms: LDAP and SSO;

• Ensure the security of communications through TLS/SSL protocols;

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure and operations teams and external partners.

Documentation and continuous improvement

• Write and maintain the technical documentation of applications and infrastructure;

• Formalise deployment, operation and maintenance procedures;

• Document architectures, configurations and technical choices;

• Keep technical reference materials up to date;

• Capitalise on lessons learned from BUILD and RUN activities;

• Take part in the continuous improvement of development and operations processes;

• Use the collaborative tools Jira, Confluence and OneNote;

• Contribute to technical discussions and collective work in an Agile / SAFe environment.

🎯 OUR REQUIREMENTS

Required skills and experience:

• Significant professional experience in Python development, application integration and Cloud environments;

• Solid command of the Python language, for both application development and automation;

• Good knowledge of the AWS ecosystem and its operating principles;

• Practical experience of Boto3 for interacting with AWS services;

• Proficiency with the continuous integration and delivery tools GitLab CI and Jenkins;

• Experience using Terraform for managing infrastructure as code (Infrastructure as Code);

• Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices;

• Experience in automating deployments and industrialising delivery processes;

• Ability to work in both BUILD and RUN phases;

• Experience in incident management, corrective maintenance and operational maintenance;

• Knowledge of application architectures and integration principles via REST APIs;

• Good understanding of application security mechanisms: LDAP, SSO, TLS and SSL;

• Experience in Agile working environments, ideally with the SAFe framework;

• Ability to write technical specifications and clear, usable documentation;

• Autonomy, rigour, analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.

• AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification;

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification;

• Experience in the development and operation of critical business applications;

• Significant experience managing AWS environments in production;

• Advanced practice of Cloud automation with Python and Boto3;

• Experience improving and making CI/CD pipelines more reliable;

• Good understanding of the challenges of availability, performance and service continuity;

• Experience integrating platforms with several partner systems;

• Ability to work across the entire application lifecycle, from design through to operation;

• Experience in complex and demanding industrial environments.

Experience within a large industrial group is a real advantage, particularly in the sectors of energy, nuclear, critical infrastructure, industrial maintenance or logistics.

👤 PROFILE SOUGHT

Holding a Bac+3 to Bac+5 qualification in computing, software development, Cloud computing, systems and networks or an equivalent field, you have proven to senior-level experience in Python development, the AWS environment and DevOps practices.

You understand the challenges of designing, developing, integrating, automating and operationally maintaining business applications.

You are able to work autonomously on varied technical subjects, combining skills in Python development, AWS Cloud administration, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and application operation.

Your versatility allows you to understand both application and infrastructure issues, while ensuring the quality, security and reliability of the solutions implemented.

Rigorous, methodical and with a good analytical mind, you enjoy complex technical environments where application availability and service continuity are essential.

You also have good interpersonal skills and know how to work collaboratively with a varied range of stakeholders: developers, Cloud teams, DevOps, operators, application managers, business users and technical partners.

Occasional travel to different sites in France is to be expected (approximately 4 to 8 times per year, mainly to Lille and Paris). Some trips may require the wearing of personal protective equipment, specific access authorisations or clearances, as well as prior administrative checks.
