Let's build a sustainable future together

At WSP, we help transform territories sustainably. By joining one of the world's leading engineering firms, you take part in ambitious missions across transport, infrastructure, buildings, environment, water, energy and industry.

Our strength lies in combining local presence, recognised technical expertise and an international network to devise sustainable and innovative solutions in the face of climate, societal and technological challenges.

Your mission: contribute to major structuring projects

As part of the development of our business, we are looking for a Service Manager for Operations and Safety, based in Paris or Lyon, to support projects of the Mobility Systems and Engineering Business Unit within the Transport & Infrastructure division of WSP France.

You will lead and develop a team dedicated to operations and safety in transport infrastructure. Our projects in this field cover the following areas:

  • Safety files;

  • Hazard studies on motorway service areas;

  • Management of safety exercises;

  • Road Operations Master Plan (SDERR);

  • Operations project management assistance (operator training, support in operations, etc.);

  • Etc.

Your responsibilities

In this role, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Manage, support and develop a team specialised in operations and safety.

  • Oversee the technical and financial delivery of the service's projects, in liaison with project managers.

  • Ensure the team's skills and know-how match market needs and upcoming projects.

  • Contribute to the commercial development of the business: monitoring tenders and responding to bids.

  • Directly manage project assistance to contracting authority or expertise assignments in operations or safety.

  • Collaborate with the other service managers of the Business Unit and the Transport & Infrastructure division on interdisciplinary transport projects.

  • Contribute to the technical profile of the service in France and internationally: publications, congresses, professional networks and WSP expertise communities.

Your future team

You will join the Operations and Safety service, an established and recognised team of 6 to 10 colleagues set to grow. It works mainly for public clients on motorway, road, port, airport and underground infrastructure.

Our culture: we value transparency, trust and mutual support to create an environment where everyone can express themselves, contribute and see their ideas valued.

The Visioneer you are: every journey is unique

At WSP, we seek curious, committed talents motivated by meaningful projects. This role is for you if you recognise yourself in the following criteria:

  • Minimum Bac+5 qualification, engineering or master's level, or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least ten years' experience managing projects in design or construction monitoring, in operations or safety in transport infrastructure.

  • Proven interest in management, supporting colleagues and developing a technical team.

  • Command of project management, stakeholder coordination and technical and financial monitoring issues.

  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, organisational and written and oral communication skills.

  • Very good command of French and English.

What this role will bring you

This opportunity will allow you to put your leadership at the service of an expert team, contribute to the growth of a business with a strong technical component, and work on complex, meaningful projects. You will work in an international environment, with access to WSP's expertise networks and collaborative tools.

You want to put your leadership at the service of teams, clients and business development. In this role, you will support colleagues in their success, build trusted relationships with clients and contribute to the company's growth. You will rely on your understanding of technical issues, your strategic vision and your ability to mobilise different stakeholders to help projects succeed.
