Head of Procurement

Deezer is a global music streaming platform, with 10M+ subscribers, present in several dozen countries. The Procurement function is already structured: P2P process, dedicated tooling, an active savings programme, and monthly reporting to the Leadership team.

We are looking for a Head of Procurement to take it to the next level: making AI a concrete operational lever (contract analysis, automated benchmarking, anomaly detection), not a topic to monitor. This is not a support role. It is a high-impact position: steering a significant cost base, negotiating strategic contracts, and actively taking part in top-level financial decisions.

The role

This position is based in Paris.

Your role will be to manage ~70M€ per year of indirect spend, deliver measurable and recurring savings, and structurally transform the way Deezer buys, putting AI at the heart of its processes.

Your scope: Tech Infra, Marketing, External Resources, Professional Services, Travel. Monthly reporting to the CFO and the Leadership team.

The team is deliberately lean (2 people): the challenge of this role is to increase the team's capacity through agentic AI rather than through headcount alone. The leverage rests above all on the seniority and expertise of the post-holder, combined with intensive use of automation.

The responsibilities

Ownership of the cost base

• Steer and optimise all indirect spend

• Challenge internal demand upstream: volume, scope, make vs buy

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

• Manage the entire category portfolio (Tech Infra, IT/SaaS, Professional Services, External Resources, Travel, Marketing)

• Lead strategic RFPs (Tech Infra, Cloud, Marketing contracts)

• Negotiate the company's top deals

• Rationalise the vendor panel (~1,000 active vendors): focus on what matters, maximise the leverage of each relationship

Agentic Procurement & Automation

• Deploy and manage AI agents on Procurement processes: contract analysis, offer comparison, negotiation and contracting

• Automate the end-to-end P2P cycle: touchless processing, recurring POs, intelligent alerts on deviations

• Build agentic workflows to qualify purchase requests, benchmark prices and deduplicate the vendor panel

Risk, Compliance & Vendor Continuity

• Assess and manage vendor risks: financial, data security, business continuity, critical dependency (notably Tech Infra vendors)

• Ensure contract compliance with legal, regulatory and security requirements (in liaison with Legal and Security)

• Put in place mitigation plans for categories with concentration risk (single-vendor, non-substitutable vendors)

Responsible Purchasing

• Integrate CSR criteria into sourcing (carbon footprint of Cloud/Infra vendors, diversity of the supplier panel)

• Prioritise vendors aligned with Deezer's CSR commitments, without sacrificing cost performance

Influence & Governance

• Be the Procurement contact for every C-Level executive and VP

• Set and enforce the purchasing policy (approval gates, P2P compliance, preferred vendors)

• Manage tensions (budget overruns, non-compliant vendor, business urgency) with assertiveness

• Represent Procurement in Finance bodies and cross-functional projects

• Build a data-driven, agile, impact-oriented Procurement culture

• Build the roadmap for maturing the function (tools, skills, ways of working)

Profile sought

Must-have

• 8 to 10+ years in Procurement, with exposure to tech, media or high-growth environments; mastery of SaaS contracts, Cloud negotiations, agency partnerships

• Track record of measurable savings with the ability to demonstrate their impact in front of a CFO/CEO

• Hands-on experience of agentic AI applied to operational processes

• Relationship skills at all levels: ability to become a sought-after upstream partner, from C-Levels to field teams

• Proven category versatility (IT, Marketing, Professional Services, Workplace) with rapid adaptation

• Analytical rigour: detailed contract reading, renegotiation business cases, executive reporting

• Sensitivity to vendor risk and data security issues (Cloud/Data contracts in particular)

• Fluent English

Nice-to-have

• Modern Procurement tools (Pivot, Zip, Payflows)

• Experience in a Finance transformation or restructuring context

• Sensitivity to CSR / responsible purchasing
