Construction Manager Road Surface Maintenance

We are looking for a construction manager for road surface maintenance at Trafikverket in Skåne.

This is a consultant assignment. Place of posting is Malmö.

The position covers 70-80 % of a full-time position.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places great demands on flexibility and ability to cooperate.

The assignment

The assignment concerns construction management and design of road surface maintenance within Trafikverket's pavement district DVS in Skåne county.

The work covers pavement maintenance on the national road network, mainly within the operational areas of Malmö and Helsingborg. The assignment includes various types of paving work, such as hot, warm and tank surfacings as well as reinforcement work.

As construction manager, you are responsible for following up contract work and represent Trafikverket towards contractors. You assist the project manager with technical and financial documentation and work with inventory, condition assessment and design of upcoming surfacing measures.

The work is largely carried out in the field and varies with the paving season. Evening and night work occurs, particularly for work on high-traffic roads.

Duties

Carry out construction management and quality follow-up of road surface maintenance.

Represent Trafikverket towards contractors and take part in kick-off meetings, site meetings and inspections.

Follow up the contractors' execution, schedules, work environment and traffic safety.

Handle ÄTA works (additional and altered work), measurements and technical and financial documentation.

Carry out inventories and condition assessments of roads and prepare proposals for measures.

Design surfacing measures and prepare technical descriptions, bills of quantities and procurement documentation.

Document and report contract work and register completed measures in Trafikverket's systems.

Requirements (NB, mandatory)

Be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Have experience and routine in working in Microsoft Office with Word, Excel, Outlook and PMSv4.

Valid driving licence covering at least category B (passenger car).

Have good knowledge of laws and regulations as well as standards and regulations within the relevant area.

Preventive and corrective pavement maintenance or equivalent.

Experience of independently carrying out inventories/condition assessments in the field. The inventory must have resulted in proposals for measures and preparation of bills of quantities according to AMA Anläggning, for at least one completed procurement of road surface maintenance with hot mix worth over SEK 10 million within the last five years.

At least 5 years of work experience as a construction manager or in a supervisory role within paving/road surface maintenance. The work experience must not be older than 8 years.

Have carried out at least three comparable paving contracts as construction manager or in a supervisory role with hot mix worth over SEK 15 million (the paving part of the contract). At least one of the assignments must cover high-traffic road networks, for example motorway or 2+1 road.

Advantageous 

Have completed work environment training for Bas-P/U according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's guidelines.

Certification step 3 according to TDOK 2018:0371 "APV Competence in Procured Activities - Contracting and Design Services".

Completed the following courses at Asfaltskolan or equivalent:

• Asphalt surfacings - General course or equivalent.

• Tank surfacings - General course or equivalent.
