Head of Group Accounting

Buena is digitalising property management in Germany. We take over traditional property management companies and transform them into modern, technology-driven businesses, with the aim of making property management simple and transparent.

You are building our accounting function from the ground up. You develop the processes, design the systems and assemble a lean team step by step. You will work hands-on yourself and be responsible for correct HGB annual financial statements for all companies and for the group. You report directly to the CFO. Our group is growing through acquisitions, and what you build must keep pace with that. You decide how accounting works at Buena.

• Build-up. You build a central accounting function for all German companies step by step. To do so, you define the target picture and roadmap, take over tasks from external service providers and manage their collaboration.

• Processes. You establish uniform processes from accounts payable through to the annual financial statements, including a fixed closing calendar, and reduce manual steps.

• Integration of new companies. You build the systems and processes with which we integrate newly acquired companies quickly and precisely.

• Systems. You are responsible for DATEV and LucaNet and design the data model, chart of accounts, mapping, validations and authorisations.

• Single-entity financial statements. You review the single-entity financial statements of all companies for accuracy and timeliness, so that they form a reliable basis for consolidation. Where necessary, you personally handle closing entries, reconciliations and intercompany clarifications.

• Consolidation. You build HGB consolidation in LucaNet, with monthly group figures that withstand audit, as well as the group chart of accounts and accounting policies.

• Auditors and advisers. You are the first point of contact for auditors and tax advisers and implement audit findings.

• Team. You build the team step by step and decide which tasks remain in-house and which are outsourced.

• You have prepared HGB group financial statements yourself, not merely coordinated or reviewed them, ideally in a group with many companies.

• You are a LucaNet expert and have personally set up a consolidation there from its data transfer from DATEV through to reporting.

• You have a thorough command of DATEV and have set up and managed many clients with a uniform structure.

• You have built an accounting function with processes and systems yourself, not merely improved one.

• You have built and led a team.

• You spot errors in single-entity financial statements before they flow into consolidation.

• You were the first point of contact during statutory audits and implemented findings.

• You work quickly and accurately, including under closing pressure.

• You act quickly in unclear situations.

• You design solutions and implement them yourself, without waiting for templates or input from others.

• You have studied business administration, accounting or finance, or are comparably qualified. Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerfachwirt, Steuerberater or auditor qualifications are an advantage.

• You speak very good German and good English.

• Up to €500 office proximity bonus if you live within 10-20 walking minutes of the office (or move there).
