About the role

Translated into English from Spanish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Purpose:

Responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end experimentation process in the market, gathering clear evidence that determines whether the product has sufficient value to be integrated into the value proposition of the business vertical (Retail, Petrol Stations, Health, F&B, etc.). This position owns the design and running of experiments with real merchants until success cases are defined, delivering to the Solutions Lead evidence that validates the increase in value generated for the business. Participates in initiative definition forums; leads and defends the experimentation activities that result from them before various internal teams, without hierarchical authority, but inspiring and collaborating with the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Experiment design and management. Formulates the hypothesis(es), defines the baseline against which it will be compared and sets the success criteria before starting. In addition, manages the experiment design across all teams, following a collaborative methodology from the ideation stage, together with the Research & Insights Lead.
  2. Definition and instrumentation. Defines the PRDs (Product Requirement Documents) and the KPIs that can measure the results of the experiment truthfully and objectively (events, reports and data quality) and that allow determining whether the experiment should be iterated, scaled or discarded.
  3. Development leadership. Drives, together with the DEVs, the design, preparation and execution of the pilot: keeps the pace of development and its rituals, and provides them with hypotheses to experiment on and success criteria.
  4. Pilot operation. Designs, together with the commercial team, the pitch to merchants, is responsible for monitoring during the test and coordinates with cross-functional teams throughout the operation.
  5. Economic reading of the pilot. Compares what was committed in the initial stages (adoption, ticket, cost, margin) against what is observed in the experiment, and determines whether the result supports the business case.
  6. Risk and dependencies. Resolves, before launching the pilots, the rules on which data is shared with third parties, and the corresponding contracts, relying also on Commercial, Operations, Finance, Security, CX and Legal as functional advisors depending on the dependency concerned.

What we are looking for:

  1. 7 to 10 years in product and experimentation, with at least one stage of real operation (not only consulting) and having taken a product into the hands of real customers.
  2. Technical judgement to define instrumentation, experience designing an experiment at business and product (UX/UI) level and interpreting results, and experience operating in the field (merchant onboarding, pilot incidents), not only writing definitions.
  3. Ability to lead without hierarchy: participates in and defends their initiatives in leadership forums and committees, without hierarchical authority, but inspiring and collaborating with the organisation.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills to present initiatives, the product being experimented on and its results.
  5. Desirable: transactions, payments, financial services, fintech or retail.
