About the Role at RobCo
RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. We believe that automating the ordinary frees humans to do the extraordinary, and we're building the end-to-end robotics infrastructure to make that possible - hardware, software, and AI in one stack that just works.
In this key role, you are a pillar of our Finance team and ensure financial precision, compliance and scalability. Your focus is not only on maintaining the status quo, but on helping to shape a highly efficient, automated and modern accounting landscape that keeps pace with our global growth and our international locations.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under HGB and ensure the reconciliation to IFRS and US GAAP for our CFO and investors.
You professionally lead our accounting team (currently two colleagues and one external bookkeeping service provider) and are the first point of contact for accounting questions in day-to-day business.
You are responsible for revenue recognition for our plant-engineering-related robotics projects, including the proper separation of advance payments under HGB as well as IFRS/US GAAP.
You plan and support stocktakes, in particular the valuation of work in progress and capitalised internal services, and ensure reliable inventory valuation.
You oversee ongoing financial accounting, from accounts receivable and accounts payable through fixed asset accounting to liquidity planning, and step in operationally where needed.
You are the contact for tax advisers and auditors and are responsible for preparing and supporting the annual KPMG audit.
You support the migration of our ERP system and the build-up of internal accounting, with the aim of handling processes fully in-house by 2027.
You are responsible for intercompany management between RobCo GmbH and our US subsidiary, ensure consistent accounting across both locations and coordinate accounting with our US subsidiary.
You work closely with Controlling, HR, Supply Chain/Operations and Management.
Your Profile
You work independently and make decisions even where processes are not yet fully defined, rather than waiting for explicit instructions.
You bring resilience and composure to an organisation that is restless and changing due to growth.
You communicate openly and directly, including about errors or queries, and so fit the direct, entrepreneurial working style of our CFO and management.
You openly acknowledge the limits of your expertise and independently find a solution rather than avoiding critical questions.
You speak and write German and English with negotiating confidence (at least C1).
You can explain complex accounting matters, such as the systematics of HGB accounting, clearly and verbally to our English-speaking CFO and investors.
Completed further training as a certified Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) with several years of demonstrable practical professional experience, not merely a course or theory-only qualification.
Confidence in closing the general ledgers under HGB and sound knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including the ability to independently prepare reconciliations between HGB and US views.
You are responsible for revenue recognition for our plant-engineering-related robotics projects, including the proper separation of advance payments under HGB as well as IFRS/US GAAP.
Experience in carrying out and managing stocktakes (year-end and perpetual inventory) and inventory valuation, ideally including work in progress.
Hands-on and practical, not only supervisory, experience in accounts payable and receivable; you can post day-to-day transactions yourself when the situation requires.
Experience in intercompany accounting and in working with US subsidiaries is an advantage.
Experience with common accounting software or ERP (e.g. DATEV, Odoo, Moss, Ramp) and openness to supporting an ERP system change.
Experience in a manufacturing, technology-driven or fast-growing company is an advantage.
Genuine player-coach mentality: enjoyment in getting hands-on with the detail yourself, as well as driving topics forward and developing the people in the team.
