About the role

About Workleap

Workleap is a Montreal-based tech company founded in 2006. Builders at heart, we create simple products that make a real difference for the people who use them. We have two product lines: Workleap Agent, our new solution designed to help every manager be more effective, and ShareGate, the global reference for Microsoft 365 migration and governance. More than 15,000 companies around the world trust us to do exactly that. We are intentional about who we hire: people who are eager to roll up their sleeves and build something meaningful in one of the most exciting periods in tech history.

Your Role

At Workleap, moving from AI experimentation to production solutions is already part of how we develop our products and improve our internal operations. Our Data team has strong expertise in engineering and data science; this role adds dedicated expertise in developing and operating AI systems in production. As a Senior AI Developer, you will design, develop and operate the AI systems and agentic workflows that connect AI models to our data, tools and applications. You will also help set the technical direction to get there.

Your impact:

  • Deliver AI systems and agentic workflows in production that bring measurable value to Workleap's products and internal operations.
  • Ensure the quality of these systems in production, building in observability, testing, security and cost control from the start.
  • Turn the results of evaluations carried out by data scientists into concrete technical improvements, to measure whether systems are getting better or worse.
  • Develop the context integrations that allow agents to use governed data and the features of our applications correctly.
  • Define approaches and reusable components so that other teams can build on proven foundations rather than starting from scratch.
  • Guide architecture decisions by considering quality, risks and costs, and by making trade-offs explicit.
Your Team

You will join Workleap's Shared Tech - Data team, a team of six engineering and data science specialists who enjoy getting their hands dirty. We are responsible for the data and AI foundations that support our products and internal teams. We value technical judgement, pragmatism, simplicity, autonomy, collaboration and the reliability of what we deliver. You will work closely with both disciplines and collaborate with software development, product, platform and security teams to bring AI solutions into production.

Over the next 6 to 12 months, you will work on very concrete challenges: how do we let someone ask a question about our data and get an answer they can trust? How do we determine whether an AI agent is reliable enough to be given more responsibility? How do we operate our AI features with the same rigour as any other critical system?

Our technology environment includes Python, SQL, Snowflake (Cortex, Cortex Agents, Cortex Code), Claude, OpenAI, Braintrust, OpenTelemetry, Terraform and GitHub.

What You Bring
  • Solid experience in production software development, particularly with Python and SQL, as well as in testing, CI/CD and operating cloud systems;
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing and operating AI applications using foundation models, agents, tools and context;
  • Experience instrumenting and evaluating non-deterministic systems: observability, evaluations and regression testing;
  • Good architectural judgement regarding reliability, security and costs, and the ability to take a position and defend your technical choices;
  • Experience developing components or tools reused by other developers;
  • Practical knowledge of Snowflake and its AI features (Cortex), or the ability to get up to speed quickly with them;
  • A builder's mindset: you take ownership of what you deliver, you experiment quickly and you use AI-assisted development tools daily, with discernment;
  • Fluency in English is required, as you will regularly collaborate with colleagues, clients and partners who speak languages other than French;
  • Asset: experience with Azure, AWS or GCP AI services, or with platforms and tools that make it easier for other teams to adopt AI.

If most of this sounds like you, apply.

What the Role Includes
  • Base salary: $140,000 - $170,000 CAD. This range reflects our pan-Canadian salary scale. The final offer may be adjusted according to the candidate's region to align with local market conditions.
  • Annual bonus programme.
  • LTIP programme, sharing in Workleap's long-term growth.
  • RRSP + family group insurance + telemedicine + annual wellness budget.
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Remote work, with access to our Montreal offices.
  • In-person gatherings twice a year.
  • Claude available to everyone.
What Drives Us

At Workleap, we build software at the heart of the work experience, every day, at every level.

We move fast. Priorities evolve, decisions are made with the information we have, and we iterate. If you thrive on intensity and ambiguity doesn't scare you, you will feel at home. We are builders. We do what it takes to move forward. AI is part of the toolkit. We use it to go faster and decide more intelligently, not to replace judgement.

If you want real impact and a place where your decisions count, this is it.

How We Recruit

Transparency is our way of recruiting - for you as much as for us.

Here is how it works: a first conversation with a recruiter, then a virtual interview with the hiring manager. You then complete a take-home case study, followed by a meeting with future colleagues to discuss it together. Depending on the role, the process may vary slightly - your recruiter will give you all the details during your first call.

We use AI to support some steps of the process, but every hiring decision remains human.

We look forward to meeting you.
