About the role 

We are looking for a Software Architecture Consultant able to act as technical lead of the project while remaining actively involved in development. The role is hybrid, based in Québec City.

Role and responsibilities 

•  Define and evolve the software architecture of web applications using a microservices approach 
•  Design containerised and orchestrated architectures (Kubernetes) aligned with functional and non-functional requirements 
•  Actively take part in development (mainly in Java) and carry out code reviews 
•  Establish best practices for design, security, observability and resilience (logs, metrics, traces) 
•  Work closely with the team (Dev, QA, Ops) to optimise continuous integration, deployment and automation 
• Mentor and coach developers; lead architecture decisions and technical governance 
•  Document target architectures and patterns; produce diagrams and reference standards 

Qualifications and experience 

• Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years' experience in software engineering and web application architecture
• Have lived in Canada for more than 10 years and be eligible to obtain a security clearance
• Master microservices architectures
• Have excellent knowledge of Java
• Demonstrate in-depth experience in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Act as technical lead while actively contributing to development
• Have knowledge of C#, C++ or Python and the Vue.js framework
• Have experience with DDS (Data Distribution Service)
