About the role

Translated into English from Swedish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

We are looking for a Head of Accounting & Control who will take full ownership of our financial reporting and control environment in the Nordics.

This is a key leadership role where you own the finances for four countries and ensure that our figures are accurate, delivered on time and rest on a stable foundation of governance and control.

You report to the CFO and work closely with our EMEA Controllership team, leading the entire record-to-report process from start to finish. You bring structure, clarity and high standards to how we close, report and control our finances, while developing a high-performing accounting team.

At Culligan Nordic Group we combine global strength with local presence, and this role sits right at the heart of that.

Key Responsibilities

· Take full ownership of the general ledger and the entire record-to-report process

· Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process for all Nordic entities

· Ensure accurate, fast and high-quality reporting in every cycle

Drive reporting and the balance sheet

· Own the statutory reporting for the Nordics

· Lead group reporting under US GAAP in line with global requirements

· Ensure strong balance sheet integrity through well-controlled and documented reconciliations

· Act as a bridge between local GAAP and US GAAP, and ensure differences are managed

Strengthen controls and governance

· Own and continuously improve the financial control environment

· Ensure compliance with local regulations, group policies and SOX requirements

· Identify risks and control weaknesses, and drive improvements within functions

Lead audits from start to finish

· Serve as the main contact for statutory, group and internal audits

· Ensure audits are well coordinated, structured and delivered on time

· Follow up on results and ensure that actions are implemented

Lead and develop the team

· Build, lead and develop the accounting and controlling team in the Nordics

· Create a culture of ownership, accountability and collaboration

· Strengthen both technical expertise and leadership within the team

Work with the business

· Work closely with FP&A, tax, the finance team and the EMEA headquarters

· Support senior stakeholders with insights and sound financial judgement

· Balance business support with a strong and independent control mindset

Who you are

You combine strong technical expertise with a natural ability to lead and create structure. You enjoy taking ownership, creating clarity in complexity and constantly improving how things are done.

You likely have a solid background in controllership or financial reporting, and are ready to step into a role where you can make a real difference, both for the figures and for the team behind them!

Your background

You have a strong foundation in finance and accounting, together with experience in leading roles. To succeed in the role, we believe that you:

· Are a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or Nordic equivalent), or have built equivalent expertise through experience

· Have several years of experience in accounting, controllership or financial reporting

· Have experience of leading and developing teams

· Thrive in a multi-entity and multi-country environment

· Have strong communication skills in English and a Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish)

Desired skills

· You are comfortable owning the whole picture, from closing to reporting to control.

· Solid knowledge of both local GAAP and US GAAP, with the ability to bridge the two

· Proven ownership of closing, reporting and balance sheet integrity

· Strong understanding of financial controls, risk and SOX, and the importance of getting it right

· Experience of working with ERP systems and reporting tools (experience of MS Dynamics is an advantage)

It is an advantage if you also have

· Experience from a US-owned, private equity-owned or multinational company

· A background in audit, for example from a Big 4 environment

· Experience of working in the Nordics or other multinational settings

Who you are as a person

Experience and hard skills are essential in this role, but we are just as curious about who you are as a person. We know that diversity drives results, and we welcome all genders, ages, backgrounds and cultures. To succeed in this position, we believe you are both analytical and influential, someone who leads with structure and trust. This is the job for you if you:

· Naturally take ownership and set high standards for quality and delivery

· Are analytical and curious, and want to understand what lies behind the figures

· Are structured, calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment

· Build strong relationships between teams, countries and functions

· Have high integrity, and are comfortable challenging when needed

· And just as important: you bring positive energy and a human approach to leadership!

Location

This role is based at our Nordic headquarters in Stockholm, Sollentuna.
