About the role

Translated into English from French by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

At Vooban, we don't simply deliver AI solutions: we help organisations learn to build, operate and evolve them on their own.

A Canadian leader in applied artificial intelligence, Vooban supports large institutions in their technological transformation by sharing what already makes us strong: applied AI, agentic architectures and the industrialisation of software development.

Our role is not only to deliver advanced systems, but also to pass on our expertise. We help our partners' teams adopt the methods, architectures and practices that make it possible to fully leverage AI in their technology processes.

Joining Vooban means becoming part of a team of experts who build advanced AI systems while helping the teams around them build their skills. If you love building as much as passing on knowledge, innovating as much as helping the teams you work with progress, you will find a unique environment at Vooban.

Vision of the role

As Solution Engineering Strategist, you bridge the gap between Vooban's agentic product and the reality of one of our strategic clients. Rather than delivering a generic solution and waiting for it to adapt on its own to the client's environment, you go into the field, understand their workflows and shape the deployment around their real constraints. You see that a compliance process is blocking the adoption of an agent, so you adjust the context and the structure of inputs before it becomes a problem; you sense that a client team is afraid of losing control to an agent, so you build the training that takes them from actors to supervisors. You work in a tight loop with developers, the Product team and the other members of your Forward Deployed Team (FDT), and directly with the client's stakeholders, from executive level down to the field.

You will therefore act as deployment strategist, coach and facilitator of change at the same time, supporting client teams towards genuine adoption of the solutions rather than a mere go-live. The success of your work is measured precisely by this adoption in the field, not only by technical delivery.

You operate at the heart of a strategic partnership with one of our clients, in a new role whose scope continues to be refined as the FDT learns from the field. Nobody dictates the roadmap to you: you diagnose the maturity of the client team, arbitrate technical choices with the developers and decide where to focus your attention first. This is an environment made for people who find ambiguity energising rather than uncomfortable, and who enjoy explaining an architecture choice to an executive as much as debating a knowledge base engine with a developer.

The stakes are ambitious: what you build here, in this demanding context, is meant to flow back into the Product backlog and benefit all of Vooban's clients.

What you will do

  • Design and facilitate discovery workshops and technical workshops with the client's stakeholders (executive, operational and technical levels).
  • Understand and map complex processes and workflows to identify opportunities for agentisation and for deploying solutions that meet the client's needs.
  • Define the context engineering of each agent: structure the expected inputs and outputs (machine readable) by seeking information from the right contacts, developers and non-developers alike.
  • Design roadmaps and strategies to deploy, adapt and customise the Vooban product to each client's technology environment (mainly on-premises deployments, sometimes SaaS).
  • Intervene upstream of Product releases to anticipate adaptation to the client environment, and downstream to follow deployment strategies and measure their impact.
  • Working with developers, identify relevant technical alternatives, their advantages, disadvantages and risks, and make trade-offs with the client (e.g. choice of knowledge base engine in a highly compliant context).
  • Equip client teams through webinars, training programmes and co-developed content, acting as coach and trainer.
  • Diagnose the maturity, needs, resistance and concerns of client teams, and propose strategies to move them from an actor role to an agent supervisor role.
  • Activate the feedback loop to Product: when an agent developed for a client has a broader scope, propose its integration into the Product backlog so that all clients benefit.
  • Collaborate closely with the other members of the FDT, Product, GTM, Customer Success and the Agent Dev teams.
  • Master and proactively integrate artificial intelligence tools into your activities, showing interest and initiative to maximise their potential.

Profile sought

  • Strong technical mastery combined with genuine versatility: the product is designed to be platform-agnostic (GitHub Copilot, AWS Bedrock, Claude/Anthropic).
  • Knowledge of agentic systems and modern AI ecosystems (LLMs, RAG, agent orchestration).
  • Knowledge of on-premises deployment contexts and the associated governance, security and compliance issues.
  • Bilingual French-English (mandatory, for technical interactions with diverse audiences).

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in digital transformation.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on technical experience in software development, systems engineering or solution architecture.
  • Proven experience deploying technical solutions in complex client contexts.
  • Experience in regulated environments (finance, insurance, healthcare): an asset.
  • Comfort in regulated environments: an asset.

Transversal skills:

  • Ability to navigate the ambiguity of a new role whose scope is still being refined.
  • Business curiosity: sincere interest in understanding the client's business before proposing a solution.
  • Empathy and active listening with non-developer profiles (managers, executives, field teams).
  • Coach and facilitator posture in supporting change.
  • Communication adapted to the audience: interpersonal skills expected of everyone, calibrated to a higher standard for explaining technical choices to executive profiles.
